History:

Sidewinder is incredibly laid-back and easygoing, often taking life as it comes. He prefers to spend his time lounging in the warm sands of the desert or soaring high above the dunes, enjoying the wind in his face. He has a witty sense of humor and isn't afraid to make light of any situation, even when faced with danger. Despite his carefree exterior, Sidewinder is fiercely loyal to his friends and family and would go to great lengths to protect them. He loves the water, and swims surprisingly well.

Sidewinder was surprised when he received a letter from Queen Golden, inviting him to a summit that was being held in the Sky Kingdom. He wasn't a noble, and didn't have experience as a diplomat, but apparently the queen had heard of him, and decided that she wanted him along.

The summit was to determine the fate of The Gift of Patience, which was enchanted by an Icewing animus thousands of years ago. It was housed in the Kingdom of Sand's royal treasury, but Queen Taiga of the Icewings insisted that it needed to be returned to The Kingdom of Ice. Queen Pyrope of the Skywings offered to host a summit between the two kingdoms, to hear both of their arguments, and to serve as a neutral party in determining who ought to control The Gift. Queen Golden and Queen Taiga both agreed to this.

At first, it seemed like the summit would turn out in favor of The Sandwings. The Gift had been in their possession for many years, and records seemed to suggest that the Kingdom of Ice had traded it to them willingly. However, Queen Taiga had grown angrier and angrier with the proceedings. Finally, she instructed her dragons to attack the Sandwing delegation, and fled from the Skywing palace. Sidewinder was caught up in the fight, and took a blast of frost breath that engulfed most of his front left leg. Working together, the Sandwings and Skywings were able to drive off the Icewing attackers.
