Name: Pinnacle
Title: Princess of the Sky Kingdom
Age: 4 (Fledgeling) (Hatched in 5126 AS)
Type: Skywing
Gender: Female (she/her)
Abilities: Typical Skywing abilities
Born: Sky Kingdom
Residence: Sky Kingdom
Appearance: Pinnacle is a Skywing fledgling with a sturdy, athletic build. Her muscles are noticeably toned from her love of flying and swimming. Her scales are a vivid, vibrant crimson that transition to a softer, dusky rose on her underside.
Her once-soft facial features have been becoming sharper and more angular as she gets older. She has twisting charcoal-grey horns and glittering, ruby-colored eyes. She wears a pair of earrings of Sandwing design, each with a smooth piece of turquoise embedded in it.
Personality: Pinnacle is very fond of her doting mother, Queen Pyrope. She is naturally affectionate and even a bit clingy, finding security in her mother’s shadow amidst the tension of the War of Patience. While she likes the idea of being queen one day, she fears having to challenge her mother, and worries that she won’t be able to bring herself to kill her when push comes to shove.
While Queen Pyrope has done what she can to keep Pinnacle sheltered from the war, Pinnacle has been growing ever more observant, and begun developing a better understanding of the politics around her.
Pinnacle has a sincere admiration for athleticism, and a love of pushing her own limits. She loves flying and swimming, and is interested in broadening her horizons and mastering as many disciplines as she can.
Relationships:
Family Tree
Queen Pyrope: Pinnacle and her mother share a fierce bond. To Pinnacle, Pyrope is a shining beacon of the kind of leader Pinnacle herself hopes to be one day, as well as a reliable source of warmth and safety. She often trails close behind her mother, and lingers closely by her side during court sessions, finding comfort in the Queen’s protective presence. However, this love is tinged with a growing, unspoken anxiety. Pinnacle is acutely aware that Skywing tradition demands she eventually kill the dragon she loves most if she wishes to take her place, a reality that makes every doting moment feel bittersweet.
King Promontory: Pinnacle’s relationship with her father is polite but distant. While there is no animosity between them, Promontory often feels like a background figure in the high-stakes drama of the royal court. Pinnacle doesn’t feel the same magnetic pull toward him that she does with her mother, and their conversations often stall at formal pleasantries. She respects him as a fixture of the palace, but she rarely seeks him out for comfort or advice, leading to a quiet disconnect that neither has quite figured out how to bridge.
Sidewinder: Sidewinder is a trusted advisor to Queen Golden of the Kingdom of Sand. He has come along on multiple diplomatic trips to the Sky Kingdom, and he and Pinnacle have formed a friendly bond. She enjoys his company and his relaxed, friendly demeanor, and thinks of him a bit like a cool uncle. He’s the one who taught her to swim, a hobby that she still associates strongly with him.
Harpy: Pinnacle views her aunt Harpy with a mix of curiosity and slight conspiratorial glee. Harpy stands out from most of the residents of the place- she is clever, observant, and unafraid to bend the rules. While she keeps a watchful, judging eye on Pinnacle’s potential as a leader, she also treats her with a wink and a nudge. Whether it’s sneaking her an extra piece of candy or sharing a bit of palace gossip, Harpy provides Pinnacle a taste of what it can be like to operate outside of the boundaries set by her mother.
History: Pinnacle is the only daughter of Queen Pyrope. She hatched in 5126 AS, only a few years before the War of Patience broke out.
The Sandwings and Skywings have been on good terms for a long time, and Queen Golden and her entourage were not an uncommon sight around the Sky Palace. That was how Pinnacle met Queen Golden’s advisor, Sidewinder. Sidewinder treated Pinnacle kindly, and the two became friends. He even taught her how to swim during a quiet moment between meetings.
When Pinnacle was three years old, the Sky Palace played host to a summit between the Ice Kingdom and the Kingdom of Sand to resolve a conflict over an artifact called the Gift of Patience. However, the summit deteriorated, and it ended in Queen Taiga ordering her forces to attack, kicking off the conflict which came to be known as The War of Patience.
Queen Pyrope has done her best to shield Pinnacle from the war- indeed, during that pivotal summit, Pinnacle had been safely tucked away in the wingery- Pinnacle is observant enough to have picked up on the basics of the conflict. She has begun to outgrow some of her clingy hatchling tendencies, and has begun to pay closer attention to her Aunt Harpy’s clever maneuvering, and her mother’s stress under the burden of leadership.
also i want her to bring back the clash of claws tournament after the war.
