History: An elderly female Leafwing, and current leader of the Venomwings. She can often seem quite rude, and harbors resentments against multiple tribes. She was not necessarily close to Venom, but she admired his vision and determination.

She has never quite forgiven the Hivewings for destroying Pantala's trees, though she begrudgingly allows them to join the Venomwings if she can be convinced of their loyalty. The Venomwings have clashed with the Skywings on multiple occasions, and Nightshade harbors a lot of resentment toward them. She does not know that Blizzard was the one who killed Venom, and believes he was assassinated by the Skywings.

She dislikes the Icewings for turning away her and the other Pantalan refugees when they first came to Pyrrhia. However, she dislikes the Skywings even more, and when the War of Patience broke out, she allied with the Icewings in order to take revenge on the Skywings. She requested that the IceWings grant the Venomwings a portion of Skywing territory, and Queen Taiga agreed to her terms.

However, when Nightshade heard a rumor that the Sandwings were considering surrendering and giving up The Gift of Patience to the Icewings, she suspected the Icewings might accept, failing to uphold their end of the alliance with the Venomwings. Nightshade sent Greenbottle to steal The Gift of Patience, making it impossible to give it up to the Icewings, and causing the war to continue.
