Gender: Female (she/her)

Personality: Ash is curious, driven, and idealistic to a fault. She dreams of romantic notions of lost kingdoms and forgotten glory. She longs to be respected and seen as important, and adores the idea that she could have been a princess had she been born in another time. She is clever and kind, but can be reckless and short-sighted. She values history and symbolism.

Relationships:
Family Tree
Hazel: (Mother) Descendent of Sequoia and the last princess of the old Leafwing line. Ash loves her deeply but finds her fading memory bittersweet.
Elm: (Sister) A responsible member of the Silkwing Assembly who sees Ash as reckless and naïve. Despite disagreements, they share a strong bond.
Maple: A shy young Leafwing Ash met at the Snarling River near the Poison Jungle’s edge. Their contrasting temperaments- Ash’s adventurous zeal and Maple’s caution- help balance each other out.

History:
Ash was born after the founding of the Leafsilk Kingdom. Her upbringing was peaceful, but she heard stories of the old Leafwing Kingdom, before and during the Tree Wars. Ash developed a fascination with the idea that she could have been a princess herself.

Over the years, Ash heard rumors that when the Leafsilk Kingdom was founded, some Leafwings refused to join, and instead returned to living hidden in the Poison Jungle, despite the danger. Enamored with the idea of a secret society where she might be viewed as royalty, Ash decided to travel to the jungle.

She asked her sister Elm to accompany her. Elm, a respected member of the Leafsilk Assembly, tried to dissuade Ash. The Poison Jungle was famed for its lethal flora and fauna, and there was no reason to think that any dragons living there would view Hazel's daughters as any sort of authority. But Ash would not be shaken. She left the Leafsilk Kingdom, and traveled north.
