Profile: Luna is a sleek and powerful female cougar who calls Starfall Mountain home. She has warm tawny fur and alert golden eyes. She catches the scent of a male cougar at the border of her territory and follows it to find Orion, a male with dark fur and strange blue eyes who hails from the forest to the south.

Luna confronts Orion at the border of her territory, asking him about his intentions. Orion responds respectfully, explaining that he has no intention to challenge Luna. He says that he is simply looking for somewhere to rest. Luna allows him to stay, but warns that she'll be watching him. Orion accepts this and settles down in a clearing. Luna keeps watch from a tree.

A snowstorm blows in and wakes Orion. Luna takes pity on him, and offers to show him to a cave that will offer shelter from the storm, and Orion accepts gratefully. Inside the cave, Orion and Luna find themselves huddling together for warmth. They spend the whole night together. In the morning, the storm has blown over, but Luna tells Orion that he can stay a little longer anyway.

They end up spending the entire cold season together. They enjoy each others company, but Orion is a wanderer at heart. He speaks often of the stars, and of ancient paths to the domains of powerful spirits. He will not stay forever, and Luna knows this.

When the weather warms and the snow melts, Orion takes his leave. However, Luna is left with an unexpected reminder of his presence. She is pregnant, and when the rains are at their heaviest, she has a cub that she calls Starlight.

When Starlight is young, York comes to Starfall Mountain. He's her uncle now don't worry about it.
